The Fr. George S. Stephanides Mission Team Endowment Fund

Missions were integral to Fr. George’s vision. Throughout his ministry, he strove to spread the Faith both to the community at large as well as to the ends of the earth. In addition to his missionary vision, Fr. George had a deep love for Holy Cross seminary, the students who studied there and the education of our future clergy.

The Fr. George S. Stephanides Endowment Fund brings together both of these ministries that Father George loved, by fully funding one seminarian every year from Holy Cross to serve on a short-term OCMC mission team. These seminarians will have the opportunity to build churches, clinics and schools, teach catechism in remote regions of the world, join in evangelism teams or serve in third world mission orphanages. By doing this, the faith and wisdom taught at the seminary will be shared by these students while they in turn will be given an experience that will widen their horizons, strengthen their leadership skills, and open their vision to the needs of the world, the sharing of the Gospel and the possibilities of applying these lessons in their own ministry here in the USA.

Contributions can be made out and sent to OCMC, noting the Fr. George S. Stephanides Endowment Fund in the memo.

2006 Orthodox Mission Team Endowment Report

The Fr. George S. Stephanides Endowment Fund sends seminarians each and every year on short-term mission teams.  This endowment is designed to not only allow OCMC to send trained and qualified catechists (seminarians) into the mission field, but to also raise the missionary awareness of our future clergy here in America.
