Vision

The youth of the Orthodox Church is, in every manner of speaking, the future of the Greek Orthodox Church in America. At St. Paul’s, we recognize this fact and strive to create an environment for our youth free from the challenges and stresses of the secular world. St. Paul’s must be a “safe haven” for all youth, a place where they can come together, develop life-long relationships, grow in their personal understanding of Orthodoxy and continue to develop a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ.

Linkage

To enable this vision to become a reality we will leverage a number of plans and programs to provide a wide variety of options for our youth. The religious education programs of St. Paul’s will be the primary vehicle in which youth will be prepared to meet the questions and challenges of the world. However, it won’t stop there. We will create special programs and events just for our youth outside of the formal Sunday School Programs.

Programs

Special programs include:
  • The establishment of St. Paul’s Greek Dance Program and Dance Troop
  • Youth rallies with other Southern California Orthodox teens
  • Youth Chanter/Reader Program
  • Community projects such as feeding the homeless and visiting children at UCI medical and working for Project Mexico
  • Social activities such as ski weekends, bowling tournaments, movie outings and ice skating in order to build life long memories
  • Participation in the Bible Bowl competition and the Oratorical Festival also encourage a growing understanding of the Orthodox Church
